Lent Day 7
Matthew 18:12-14
“What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.
REFLECTION
TWe feel that the “one sheep” represents an individual—someone overlooked or drifting away. No one is expendable and even one life is worth pursuing. It isn’t about the “wandering” finding their own way back, it is about us, the Shepards looking for “wanderers” to bring them back to the flock and showing them that they have a home with God. God the Father places great value on everyone who believes in Christ.

CONSIDER
Think about this, if someone matters to you, they’re not just replaceable because things get hard. Love values the one, not just the crowd or the convenience of every day life.
PRAYER
Thank you for being the Good Shepherd who cares for each and every one of us. Just as a shepherd would leave the ninety-nine to search for the one lost sheep, I pray that you would never give up on me when I stray from your path. Help me to always follow your lead and stay close to you. May I never forget that you are always seeking me out, even when I am lost. Thank you for your unfailing love and grace. Amen.
FAITH IN ACTION
I believe we have demonstrated this in our faith journey every day, welcoming all to our Christian community. In addition, Brian’s bag is a perfect example of our church shepherding to those wandering, letting them know they are not alone.
DAILY GRATITUDE
Take a moment to name one thing you are grateful for today.
BIBLE NOTE: Jesus often taught through parables — short stories that invite reflection rather than simple answers.
