Lent Day 28
Psalm 143: 1,2, 7,8
Lord, hear my prayer, listen to my cry for mercy; in your faithfulness and righteousness come to my relief. Answer me quickly, Lord; my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me or I will be like those who go down to the pit. Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.
REFLECTION
Sometimes we feel at the end of our rope, like life has given us more than we can handle, and faith is fading…where are you, God? Why are you hiding from me when I need you most? But God’s love is unfailing, a very present help in troubled times, our rock and our strength. Even though the answer may not be immediate (I want it NOW), God is always present and loving and here for us; we just have to turn to Him. Pray incessantly, listen carefully, the Lord often speaks to us in our silence.

CONSIDER
When have you been feeling your “spirit failing” and turned to God for answers and help?
PRAYER
Dear Lord, thank you for taking care of me and leading me in your right path. Please help me to remember that you are a constant presence in my life, good times and challenging times, you are my light and my redeemer. In you I place my trust. Amen.
FAITH IN ACTION
Remember to turn to God all the time and not only when desperation takes hold and things seem hopeless. Put your faith in God.
DAILY GRATITUDE
Take a moment to name one thing you are grateful for today.
BIBLE NOTE: Repeating phrases in prayer shows dependence and urgency.
