Lent Day 17

2 John 1: 4-6

It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us.  And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another. And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.

REFLECTION

Let love guide how we show up - in leadership, in family, in community, and in the quiet moments no one sees.

Keep love as your compass. Scripture reminds us that love isn’t proven through grand gestures, but through daily choices - honesty when we want to look away, patience when it’s tested, courage when we need to be brave, humility when pride would be easier, and care for ALL, especially when it’s inconvenient.

This is what faithful love looks like: steady, consistent, and rooted in how we live every single day.

Reflection by Nicole

CONSIDER

If love, not being right, led my choices, what would change in how I speak and show up each day?

Where might I be choosing ego or fear over love in my words, tone, or actions?

PRAYER

Lord, You have called me to walk in truth and in love.

When the noise of the world grows loud,

help me listen for Your voice instead.

Guard my heart from pride and fear,

and guide my words to bring peace rather than division.

Let love be my first response,

my steady practice,

and my truest obedience.

Teach me to live what I believe,

so that my life points quietly back to You. Amen.

FAITH IN ACTION

Today, simply walk in love - let it guide your tone, your words, your restraint, your courage, your judgment, and the way you treat everyone, including yourself.

DAILY GRATITUDE

Take a moment to name one thing you are grateful for today.

BIBLE NOTE:  Some books of the Bible are very short — 2 John is only one chapter long.
