Lent Day 29
Ephesians 2:8-10
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
REFLECTION
Grace is God’s freely given love and kindness toward anyone who asks for it. Your visible actions are not what give you grace; it is interaction with God, asking his wisdom and love, that you achieve grace. We are created in God’s image to do God’s work. So it is not the work itself that earns favor with God; it is your relationship with God that earns his favor.

PRAYER
If you are having a rough day, I recommend reading this poem. It is beautiful and inspiring.
Desiderata Max Ehrmann, 1927:
“And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. “
FAITH IN ACTION
When you are doing a daily chore, set aside a minute for prayer. I crochet a lot- hats and scarves. Over each piece, I say a small prayer.
DAILY GRATITUDE
Take a moment to name one thing you are grateful for today.
BIBLE NOTE: Grace is a central theme in many New Testament letters.
