Lent Day 33

Psalm 31:13-16

For I hear many whispering, “Terror on every side!” They conspire against me    and plot to take my life. But I trust in you, Lord; I say, “You are my God

My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies,  from those who pursue me.  Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your unfailing love.

REFLECTION

There are many reasons to doubt God’s unending love and guidance, many distractions that deprive one’s feelings of conduct and security.  It's easier or more common to believe and become impacted by external messages of worry, fear, persistent negativity, and other external negative energies.  Placing one’s face and confidence in God's never-ending message of love and peace will counter these negative and destructive messages and provide the energy to deal with them effectively.  Be open to his everlasting spirit of love, peace, and righteousness.

CONSIDER

Do you believe in his love and in his message of peace, especially during times of duress and trouble?

PRAYER

Dear Lord, give me the strength and courage to face the many challenges I face each day.

Amen

FAITH IN ACTION

Stop and consider the positive outcome of any external situation, internal doubt, or personal turmoil.

DAILY GRATITUDE

Take a moment to name one thing you are grateful for today.

BIBLE NOTE: Many psalms hold fear and trust together in the same prayer.
