Lent Day 3

Romans 1:8-10

First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world.  God, whom I serve in my spirit in preaching the gospel of his Son, is my witness how constantly I remember you in my prayers at all times; and I pray that now at last by God’s will the way may be opened for me to come to you.

REFLECTION

If I were to put Romans 1:8-10 into my own words… writing, emailing, or texting you today, it would be…

  Seymourians 1:8-10

I thank God for you being in the world and in my life.  I think of you all the time and smile. I can’t wait until we get together again.

CONSIDER

There are people in my life that come to mind but I don’t often see.  People who have supported me, helped me grow and or brought me joy.  When I remember these great people  it makes me smile and I thank God that they were and are in my life.   Today’s scripture reminds me it is great to think of these people and thank God for them.  It is even better to reach out to these people as Paul did in his letter to the Romans.  Let them know they are remembered, loved, and important to me and to the world. Sharing your smile can make them smile too.

PRAYER

Good morning God, thank you for all of the support, guidance and love you have sent me through the amazing people in my life. Today I thank you God by acknowledging and thanking the people, (yes, even the interesting people), you have brought into my life to bring me closer to you.

FAITH IN ACTION

During your day today when someone who makes you smile comes to mind…Acknowledge and thank God for that person and then, right then, text, email, call or visit them. Let them know they are remembered, loved, and important to you and to the world….in what ever words or emojis you choose.  Just let them know you’re sharing your smile.

DAILY GRATITUDE

Take a moment to name one thing you are grateful for today.

BIBLE NOTE: Romans is a letter written by Paul to real people in a real city facing real challenges.
